Christmas Lights Switch On 2019
Put the date in your diary as this year’s Meanwood Christmas Lights switch on promises to be bigger and better than last year’s with new lights, entertainment, food, drink and stalls.
This year’s Christmas Light Switch-On in Meanwood takes place on Friday 15th November in the square opposite Waitrose (in between Arkwrights & the Post Office) on Green Road. The event runs from 4.30 – 7pm with the lights being switched on at 6pm.
Green Road will be closed for the duration of the event so there will be plenty of room for everyone.
An exciting addition to this year’s entertainment will be The Vortex Tunnel which claims to be “the world’s ultimate walk through illusion”.
Organiser, Sue Sheard said “The lights switch on is a lovely community event that really kicks off Christmas in Meanwood. Alongside the lights that illuminated Meanwood last Christmas last year there will be new ones sponsored by local businesses Terminus and Junction. There will also be a set of lights for Carr Manor Community School designed by pupil Amelia Parker-Smithen and paid for by Meanwood Valley Partnership”.
